Last night at a special BOE meeting and interviewing 4 qualified candidates, Brent Brewer was elected to fill the vacant seat on the BOE. The Board and the district welcomes Brent to his new role of trustee and look forward to working with him.

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 for the purpose of interviews for the vacant board seat. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., and will be held at Dowagiac Middle School in the PAC. There are four (4) candidates for the open board seat and candidates are listed in the order of their interviews. Craig Schmidt, Brent Brewer, Jessica Shank, and Angela Johnson Meeting is open to the public. The meeting will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/letsgochiefs

This seat will be to fulfill the remainder of a current term, 2 years, due to the recent election results. Applicants must submit a letter of interest to the board. Interested applicants can mail their letter to Dowagiac Board of Education, 243 S. Front St., or email their letter to Kathy Stewart, kstewart@dowagiacschools.org At the January 11, 2021, regular board meeting, the board will review the letters of interest and determine the number of candidates to be interviewed.
