| MCAN is proud to partner with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the State of Michigan to support Michigan Reconnect, a scholarship program designed to help Michigan adults pursue better economic opportunities by enrolling in and completing college. We believe postsecondary education is the key to economic recovery. We also know Michigan won’t reach its Sixty by 30 goal without engaging adult workers who haven’t completed a college degree or postsecondary certificate. Data shows that workers with a two-year degree earn an average of $7,500 more per year than those who have only a high school diploma. Projections show that 75% of Michigan’s high-demand, median-wage jobs require education beyond high school. The Michigan Reconnect scholarship program pays the full cost of tuition and fees for adults who attend a community college within their local district. It also offers a large tuition discount for those who choose to attend an out-of-district community college. Participants can use the scholarship to start or complete an associate degree or a certificate program. |

| Job Opportunity: Become a Student Navigator |
| Michigan Reconnect is seeking Michigan residents who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years of advising experience to help applicants navigate the Michigan Reconnect scholarship program. Student navigators will help applicants set career goals, identify relevant education opportunities, complete requirements for admissions and financial aid, and create a plan to graduate. |
